  • A CHARTER ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE TERMS OF APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN APPOINTIVE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA, KANSAS, AMENDING SECTION 2 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE 30; SECTION 2 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE 45; SECTION 5 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE 56; SECTION 2 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE 60; SECTION 2 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE 62; SECTION 2 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE 72; SECTION 1 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE 81; AND SECTION 12 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE 83, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF WICHITA, KANSAS, AND REPEALING THE ORIGINALS OF SAID SECTIONS.

    BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF WICHITA, KANSAS:

    SECTION 1. (Amended and repealed—See Charter Ordinance No. 119.)

    SECTION 2. (Amended and repealed—See Charter Ordinance No. 119.)

    SECTION 3. (Repealed by Charter Ordinance No. 166.)

    SECTION 4. (Amended and repealed—See Charter Ordinance No. 197.)

    SECTION 5. (Amended and repealed—See Charter Ordinance No. 119.)

    SECTION 6. (Amended and repealed—See Charter Ordinance No. 119.)

    SECTION 7. (Amended and repealed—See Charter Ordinance No. 120.)

    SECTION 8. (Amended and repealed—See Charter Ord. No. 110.)

    SECTION 9. All appointments made by the City Council to boards and commissions subject to this charter ordinance shall expire June 30, 1989, whether made before or after the effective date of this charter ordinance. Thereafter, the terms shall be as established by ordinance.

    SECTION 10. This ordinance shall be published once each week for two consecutive weeks in the official city paper.

    SECTION 11. This is a charter ordinance and shall take effect sixty-one days after final publication unless a sufficient petition for referendum is filed and a referendum held on the ordinance as provided in Article 12, Section 5, Subdivision (c)(3) of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, in which case, the ordinance shall become effective if approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon.

    PASSED BY THE GOVERNING BODY, not less than two-thirds of the members elect voting in favor thereof this 20th day of October, 1987.
