§ 11.52.010. Time limits.

  • (1)

    The city traffic engineer is authorized and directed to designate no-parking zones and restricted parking zones, taxicab stands, police car parking zones and parking meter zones consistent with public interest, convenience and necessity upon the streets and alleys of the city.

    (2)

    The traffic engineer is further authorized and directed to establish and designate the time limit for the parking of motor vehicles in parking meter zones and the restrictions by time or otherwise to be placed upon restricted parking zones where the same is deemed to be in the public interest.

    (3)

    The traffic engineer shall appropriately post or cause to be posted by official signs the no-parking zones and restricted parking zones. The presence of a parking meter shall be sufficient notice that the parking area at that location is a parking meter zone.

    (4)

    The time limit or other restriction placed upon any parking area shall become effective when the time limit or other restriction on parking is designated by an official sign or signs erected upon the street or alley affected. The time limit placed upon parking meters shall become effective when such limit is designated on the respective parking meter or meters.
