§ 18.40.190. Correction of unfit structures.

  • The owner of any structure which has been designated as unfit for use or human habitation and vacated pursuant to an order by the board shall make such structure safe and secure in whatever manner the board may reasonably require. Any vacant building open at the doors and windows, if unguarded, shall be deemed dangerous to human life and a nuisance within the meaning of these provisions. Buildings that are partially occupied and which have unoccupied areas that have been declared unsafe or unfit for use or habitation, separate or apart from the occupied or other portions of the building, shall be corrected or demolished for all portions of the building so declared.
