§ 18.40.510. Light and ventilation.

  • Buildings which are customarily inhabited by people and which were constructed, altered or repaired prior to the effective date of the ordinance codified herein shall provide and maintain provisions for light and ventilation that were required by the building code in force at the time the building was constructed, altered or repaired. Buildings which were constructed, enlarged, repaired or otherwise altered prior to 1941 and which, in the judgement of the superintendent of central inspection, are considerably deficient in the minimum provisions for light and ventilation compared to what is considered reasonable for health and decency, shall be corrected upon the written order of the superintendent.
