§ 2.12.1096. Same—Duties.

It shall be the function of the council to set policy and guidelines, develop design and location standards for utility construction in public rights-of-way, to develop procedures for standardization of mapping and recordkeeping in connection with utility installations, to coordinate capital planning and budgeting, to develop liaison systems between the city and private utility operations, to promote safety in construction, and to minimize public inconvenience caused by construction in public rights-of-way.

A subcommittee or working committee shall be composed of delegates from:

Public works engineering (City);

(2)

Public works maintenance (City);

(3)

Western Union Telegraph Company;

(4)

K. G. & E,

(5)

Southwestern Bell Telephone Company;

(6)

Gas service company;

(7)

Arkla Gas Service Company;

(8)

Department of water and water pollution control (City);

(9)

Cable T.V.;

(10)

Traffic engineering (City);

(11)

Public works engineering (County);

(12)

Railroads;

(13)

McConnell Air Force Base—Civil engineering.

This committee shall be involved with the daily operations of utility location and coordination by meeting weekly to review field operations and proposed plans.
