§ 3.14.020. Permit required; unlawful acts; exceptions.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to stage, present or conduct any parade without first having obtained a parade permit.

    (b)

    Parades which are part of a community event, as defined by Section 3.11.020, shall obtain a community event permit as required by Chapter 3.11 of the Code of the City of Wichita. No additional permit or fees for these activities will be required by this chapter.

    (c)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to participate in a parade or motor vehicle event for which the person knows a parade or community event permit has not been granted.

    (d)

    It shall be unlawful for any person in charge of, or responsible for the conduct of, a parade or community event to knowingly fail to comply with any condition of the parade or community event permit.

    (e)

    This chapter shall not apply to:

    (1)

    Funeral processions, which are regulated by Chapter 3.74 of the Code of the City of Wichita;

    (2)

    A governmental agency acting within the scope of its functions;

    (3)

    Sidewalk processions or marches conducted entirely on sidewalks which observe and comply with traffic regulations and traffic control devices.
