§ 3.97.120. Street vending—Restrictions.

  • Any person engaged in the business of street vending shall be subject to the following restrictions or prohibitions:

    (a)

    Street vending within the central business district as defined herein shall be prohibited.

    (b)

    Sales may be conducted in residential districts, but no street vendor shall set up a stand or other movable or temporary contrivance on any public street or alley nor shall any street vendor be allowed to cross the lawn or other portions of the premises of others, except upon the duly constituted sidewalks and walks leading directly to the front doors of any residence.

    (c)

    No street vendor shall park a vehicle or series of vehicles on any public street or alley for more than two hundred forty minutes in an eight-hour period at one location. The parking of a vehicle within three hundred feet of the original location is considered one location.

    (d)

    No street vendor shall sell merchandise or food within two blocks of any public or private school between the hours of seven a.m. and four thirty p.m., Monday through Friday. School governing boards or administrators may make arrangements to provide vending locations on school property.

    (e)

    Street vending shall be conducted in residential districts only between the hours of eight a.m. and eight p.m. on any day, and street vending at any other hours in residential districts is strictly prohibited.
