§ 6.04.140. Vaccination and identification tags.

  • (a)

    The veterinarian administering the rabies vaccination shall issue a metallic tag for the particular dog vaccinated, on which tag shall be distinctly marked the veterinarian's name or veterinary clinic's name, address, and tag identification number. The year of issuance also shall be distinctly marked, which shall be the same as the year of vaccination or rabies certification for such animal. A new vaccination tag shall be issued in accordance with the procedures established in section 6.04.110. The owner of any dog which is determined by the Supervisor of Animal Control or designee to be running at large while not wearing a collar with identification consisting of the owner's name and current address, or if such dog is over five months old, a current rabies vaccination tag, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
