§ 7.04.020. Authority of director to make rules and regulations.

The director of the Wichita-Sedgwick County department of community health shall have power to make such rules and regulations in relation to the health and environment of the city and for the prevention of suppression of disease not inconsistent with the provisions of this Title, and the rules and regulations of the state board of health, as he may deem necessary or advisable. In such cases it shall be the duty of the director of the Wichita-Sedgwick County department of community health to make such rules and regulations and to take such measures and to order and cause to be done such acts for the prevention of the public health, though not herein or elsewhere or otherwise authorized, as he may believe and declare the public safety and health demand, and all such rules or regulations so declared by him to be emergency rules and regulations, shall as soon as possible after the promulgation of same, be reported by him to the city council for approval. Any person who shall violate, disobey or refuse to comply with any rule, order or regulation of the Wichita-Sedgwick County department of community health or the department of the Wichita-Sedgwick County department of community health made in conformity with the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
