§ 11.68.140. Same—Issuance of permits; duties of city officers.

  • When the application for a permit has been approved, the traffic engineer shall endorse such approval over his signature and submit the application to the city treasurer who, upon payment of required fee, shall execute the permit on the application form, and issue the number of parking meter hoods shown by the application; provided, however, that no permit issued hereunder shall be for a period in excess of thirty days; and provided, further, nothing herein contained shall prohibit the reapplication and reissuance of permits for successive periods not to exceed thirty days each. Authorized employees of the city shall cause the designated parking meters to be hooded or covered in accordance with the permits; and such employees shall remove the covers and return the same to the custody of the city treasurer at the expiration of the time limited by the permit. The director of administration and the director of operations and maintenance shall jointly establish suitable procedures for the issuance, removing and accounting, for parking, meter hoods and the covering of parking meters as herein authorized.
