§ 2.12.1102. Wichita Private Industry Council—Composition, appointment of members, terms of office and vacancies.

  • The city council shall appoint fourteen private industry council members representative of industry and the business community, including small business and minority business enterprises, organized labor, community-based organizations and educational agencies and institutions. The council may include members of existing or newly formed organizations and representatives of persons eligible to participate in activities under Title VII of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act Amendments of 1978. In no event shall representatives of business and industry have less than a majority on the council and, when possible, at least half of such business and industry representatives shall be from small business, i.e. private, for profit enterprises employing five hundred or fewer employees. The terms of office shall be as set forth in Section 2.12.020(1).
