§ 3.52.010. Solid waste transfer stations.

  • (a)

    In order to protect the public health, safety and well-being, limit the sources of air pollution, noise and traffic within the city; to protect property values, maintain an environment conducive to quality living within the city and to provide for safe and sanitary collection and disposal of solid waste, the city shall license solid waste transfer stations for the collection and shipping of municipal solid waste.

    (b)

    Under the authority of K.S.A. 12-2101, et seq., K.S.A. 65-3410 and its home rule authority, the city may provide for the collection and disposal of solid waste within the city and may regulate and license trash collection.
