§ 9.29.300. Power boating confined to designated area.

  • With the written permission of the city, the use, operation, launching and docking of power boats, including personal watercraft, in and upon the Big Arkansas River and Bank Area, shall be limited to and confined within the area between the Lincoln Street dam and the Seneca Street bridge.

    Power boats shall confine their activities to the center portion of the river and shall not approach the bank except for the purpose of landing or entering the river. Slow moving water craft shall stay close to the bank of the river. Personal watercraft shall be confined to operation within the area between the Lincoln Street dam and the Kellogg Avenue overpass/bridge, and this area is hereby designated as the personal watercraft area. Power boats other than personal watercraft may operate within the designated personal watercraft area only when there are no personal watercraft being operated in the area, however, all power boats operating within the personal watercraft area must leave the area immediately when any personal watercraft enter such area. Personal watercraft are required to comply with all ordinances regulating power boats unless herein exempted.
