§ 14.08.040. Procedure of formation.

  • Request for designation as an industrial district shall be submitted to the city manager for submission to the board of commissioners. The request shall be signed by the owners of at least fifty percent of the area proposed to be included in said district. Such request shall also include:

    (a)

    A certified ownership list, prepared by a local abstract company, giving the owners of and legal description of all property owned by the persons submitting the aforementioned request for designation as an industrial district to the city manager.

    (b)

    A description by metes and bounds, or by additions, of the total proposed district.

    (c)

    Information, plot plans, and computations showing that this area meets the criteria established in Section 14.08.020 of this chapter.

    (d)

    Aerial photographs or land use maps showing the location and nature of industrial activity located within said proposed district.

    The city manager shall cause to have reviewed this information and shall submit his findings to the board of commissioners as to whether the request meets the requirements and criteria set forth in Section 14.08.020 of this chapter. Such findings and review shall be forwarded to the board of commissioners within thirty days from the receipt of such request. In the event such request meets the requirements and criteria of this chapter, the board of commissioners may create an industrial district as heretofore authorized.
