§ 2.12.620. Public building commission—Composition.

  • The Wichita public building commission shall be composed of not to exceed nine regular members and not to exceed two provisional members as hereinafter set forth. The members shall be appointed by the city council as follows:

    (a)

    Seven members of the commission shall be appointed from the citizens of the city at large. The terms of office shall be set forth in Section 2.12.020(1) of this chapter.

    (b)

    The board of county commissioners of Sedgwick County, Kansas and the President of Wichita State University may each recommend for appointment to the commission one member to represent said entity on the Wichita public building commission. Upon receipt of the recommendations for appointment, the appointments shall be made. The terms of office shall be as set forth in Section 2.12.020(1) of this chapter.

    (c)

    The provisional members of the commission shall be the Secretary of Administration of the State of Kansas or the designated representative of the Secretary and a representative of the board of education of unified school district No. 259, who may sit as members of the Wichita public building commission only where such commission will provide for a building or for equipment which will house offices or will furnish equipment to agencies of the State of Kansas or the school district, respectively and only when a recommendation for such appointment has been received from the appropriate authority.
